Each of the twelve 8 inch decoys is individually hand carved and hand painted. Meticulously applied scale texture as well as the vivid painted coloring techniques give the decoys an authentic, realistic appearance. Each decoy is weighted and balanced so when placed in the water it will swim forward and in a circle mimicking the actual movement of a live fish. The decoys are identified, signed and numbered on the bottom. In addition, each decoy comes with a handcrafted stand made from wood and brass and the species of the decoy is hand lettered on the base. Although the decoys can be used for spear fishing, they are highly valued as a collectable in the tradition of American Folk Art. |
